Finland has once again prepared a new defense aid package for Ukraine. It will be a major support package, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
New aid package from Finland
The head of state praised Finnish President Alexander Stubb’s actions regarding Ukraine, as well as his support and joint work.
"Alex and I discussed the support package prepared by Finland. It is a very strong package," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian and Finnish leaders also exchanged views on Europe’s main agenda.
"We also exchanged views on the key issues currently on Europe’s agenda, as well as on the diplomatic situation and all the prospects in great detail – with the American team, the opportunities in Europe, and our bilateral prospects," Zelenskyy said.
At the end of the conversation, the president personally thanked Finland and Stubb for their "consistently just position."
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that in late August, Finland pledged to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities significantly. Stubb also said he had discussed the issue with Zelenskyy.
In addition, Ukraine and Finland are launching joint production of military equipment and weapons. The countries will produce drones, develop unmanned maritime systems, and establish a facility to manufacture ground-based robots.
It was also previously reported that, according to Stubb, Ukraine is currently in its strongest position since the start of the full-scale invasion.
