Finland to send critical air defense equipment to Ukraine ahead of winter

Finland is determined to significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defenses to help the country withstand Russian attacks during the winter, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said, according to We Are Ukraine.
In his view, Ukraine's air defense is a key issue that all of Kyiv's allies should focus on.
Stubb also stressed that he had already discussed the issue with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We will provide Ukraine — I will not say exactly what we will provide — with certain critical air defense assets that still remain in Finland. We all know that winter is coming. The Ukrainians know something about winter," Stubb noted.
According to him, it is now extremely important to help Ukraine protect its energy infrastructure, as well as provide it with generators and diesel engines.
The Finnish president added that Kyiv's allies must ensure that the coming winter does not become a real blow to the Ukrainian people.
Against this backdrop, Stubb recalled Russia's ballistic missile production capabilities. He also assured that the search for interceptors for the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues.
"We know that Patriot systems are in different parts of the world, not only in Europe, but also in the Middle East and the United States. And there are many other areas we need to work on," Stubb stressed.
On the night of August 27, Ukrainian air defenses once again began intercepting Russian ballistic missiles.
It was also reported that Ukraine recently received a new batch of missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
Moreover, it became known that British leader Andy Burnham will persuade US President Donald Trump to provide Ukraine with missiles for Patriot systems.
