The US is discussing the possibility of supplying NATO Tomahawk missiles for transfer to Ukraine, but the final decision will rest with President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance told Fox News.

"You asked this question about Tomahawks. It's something the President's going to make the final determination on... I'll let the President speak to it, but I know that we're having conversations this very minute about that issue," Vance said.

He added that Trump will act in the interests of the United States, which is the core principle guiding his foreign and defense policy decisions.

"That will be the same heuristic that we apply to how we answer this question about Tomahawks," Vance concluded.

Ukraine requested Tomahawks

Recently, WSJ reported that Trump informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in New York of his willingness to lift restrictions on long-range strikes against Russia. Zelenskyy, in turn, asked for Tomahawk cruise missiles, which can strike targets at distances of 900 to 1,500 miles.

According to WSJ, Trump is considering providing both these missiles and other long-range weapons.
