Vacation so you don’t ruin your trip: a list of items everyone forgets

Planning a vacation always starts with packing a suitcase, but even experienced travelers often forget important little things. The worst moment is realizing you forgot something when it’s already too late to go back. Here are the items people often forget, but that can save — or spoil — your trip.
Chargers and adapters
The most commonly forgotten items by travelers are phone or camera chargers. While you can survive without a camera, a phone without a charger is a real problem.
Buying a new charger abroad is possible, but it costs time and money. Even worse is forgetting an adapter for the local power outlet — your charger won't help if it doesn't fit.
Hygiene and cosmetics
Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, creams — small items often forgotten in the rush. People usually plan to pack them at the last minute, but then run out of time.
If you use specific products like hypoallergenic cosmetics or medicated creams, make sure to bring extra. It's best to keep a separate travel kit with mini-versions of your preferred products.
First-aid kit
Traveling without the medications you take regularly can turn into a disaster. Not all medicines are available abroad, and some require a prescription.
Bring painkillers, fever reducers, band-aids, and antiseptics. A first-aid kit is especially important in countries with a language barrier or unfamiliar cuisine.
Documents and their copies
Forgetting a passport or ticket can ruin your trip right at the airport. Always double-check your documents and make copies.
Store papers in a secure folder and keep it with you. Losing documents abroad can lead to serious trouble.
Extra clothes and underwear
Underwear is not something to skimp on when packing. Bring a few extra pairs in case of unexpected situations. Weather can change, clothes can get wet or lost. Don’t forget warm clothing — even in the tropics, nights can be chilly.
Luggage locks
A luggage lock is an inexpensive but useful security item. It can protect your belongings from theft or unauthorized access. In some countries, even airport staff might open a suitcase without warning. It's better to have a good lock and never leave your bag unattended.
Flip-flops
Flip-flops may seem like a small thing, but they are necessary in the shower, on the beach, by the pool, or just for walking around comfortably.
They take up little space and are extremely useful. Also, bring comfortable walking shoes, especially if you plan to explore on foot. Foot comfort greatly affects the quality of your trip.
