Utility workers in occupied territories face pressure to forgo their unpaid wages - NRC
In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, issues with salary payments have been observed once again. This time, utility workers in the occupied areas are being forced to forgo their outstanding wage arrears, according to the National Resistance Center (NRC).
According to the informational resource, statements renouncing wage arrears are being collected at enterprises in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. The directive came from the Russian occupation authorities and was readily accepted by the heads of these institutions who chose to collaborate with the enemy. Specifically, this concerns the city of Berdiansk and the municipal enterprises Gorlift and Berdianskvoda.
"People have begun to resign en masse from municipal enterprises. As a result, these companies on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are already suffering from a critical shortage of staff," the statement reads.
Additionally, the National Resistance Center reminded that collaborators have been unable to organize public transport effectively in temporarily occupied Donetsk. As a result, only about a third of buses, trolleys, and trams are operational, largely due to a shortage of drivers, many of whom have been forcibly mobilized into the Russian army.
