Vehicles from the convoy of US vice presidential candidate Tim Walz were involved in an accident while traveling to a campaign event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, reports The Hill.

During the collision involving the journalists' vehicle, one reporter suffered a broken arm. Other media personnel traveling with Walz sustained minor scratches and bruises, and another journalist experienced a concussion.

After the incident, the reporters and staff were transferred to new minibuses and continued their journey. The cause of the accident remains officially unclear.

It is noted that the vehicle carrying Walz was not involved in the crash and proceeded to the scheduled campaign event.

On Monday, September 2, Walz met with local leaders in Minnesota. His convoy then traveled to Wisconsin, where he was scheduled to speak at a Labor Day festival organized by the Milwaukee Area Labor Council.

Candidates from the Democratic Party

In early August, current US Vice President Kamala Harris was selected as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate. Her nomination was supported by 99% of the party's members at the convention.

At the end of August, during a convention in Chicago, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was officially nominated for the position of US Vice President by the Democratic Party.

Harris chose Walz for the position due to his track record and biography.
