US to sell $322 million in weapons to Ukraine: HAWK air defense and Bradley IFVs included

The United States has approved the sale of two military aid packages to Ukraine totaling $322 million, according to a decision by the Pentagon.
A total of two aid packages have been approved: one worth $172 million and the other $150 million. The first includes HAWK Phase III air defense systems. The second provides for the delivery of Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
HAWK air defense system
HAWK (Homing All the Way Killer) is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system developed in the United States in the 1950s. It has been upgraded multiple times and is still in use in many countries today. The system is designed to intercept aircraft, helicopters, and certain types of cruise missiles.
The HAWK Phase III variant that Ukraine is receiving features significantly improved radar guidance, increased accuracy, and enhanced effectiveness against aerial targets. The system can engage targets at distances of up to 40 kilometers and altitudes of up to 18 kilometers.
HAWK is mobile and highly flexible in deployment, allowing for quick repositioning along critical fronts. Its advantage lies in its relatively low cost compared to newer air defense systems, while still maintaining a high level of effectiveness. It is well-suited for protecting infrastructure facilities, rear bases, or troop concentrations from aerial attacks.
Bradley infantry fighting vehicle
The M2 Bradley is an American infantry fighting vehicle that combines firepower, mobility, and protection. It is equipped with a 25mm Bushmaster automatic cannon, a machine gun, and TOW anti-tank missiles, allowing it to effectively engage both enemy personnel and armored vehicles, including tanks.
The vehicle can carry up to six infantry soldiers, providing them with reliable cover during movement and combat. Its armor offers protection against small arms fire, artillery fragments, and light anti-tank weapons.
The Bradley is specifically designed for high-intensity combat alongside Abrams tanks and is considered one of the most successful infantry fighting vehicles in the world.
