US to reopen its embassy in Israel

The US Embassy in Israel will resume operations on Wednesday, June 25, as the self-isolation of diplomats has been lifted, according to the US State Department.
"Due to the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, Home Front Command has lifted all restrictions, and the U.S. Embassy will be open as usual on Wednesday, June 25. The shelter in place orders for U.S. government employees and their family members has been lifted," as the statement reads.
The statement notes that the order for self-isolation for US government employees and their family members has been lifted.
However, they are prohibited from traveling outside Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Be'er Sheva until further notice. Transit between these areas, including to and from Ben Gurion Airport, is allowed.
Israel-Iran ceasefire
On June 13, Israel struck key Iranian nuclear and military facilities, eliminating part of Iran's military leadership.
By June 18, the US had temporarily closed its embassy in Jerusalem and the consulate in Tel Aviv.
Tensions escalated again on June 22, when the US launched strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
While the Pentagon stated that these strikes had "effectively destroyed" Iran’s nuclear program, US intelligence holds a more cautious view.
In the early hours of June 25, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had reached a full ceasefire agreement.
