US to provide Romania with radiation detection equipment
The US will deliver various equipment to Romania worth almost $2 million, including devices for detecting elevated radiation levels and several vehicles, according to Digi24.
According to the publication, this information comes from documents prepared by Romania’s Ministry of Internal Affairs for the formal acceptance of this aid.
The equipment provided by the US is valued at approximately $1.9 million and includes:
- vehicles;
- portable radiation detection devices;
- accompanying equipment for specialists, including 400 specialized pagers;
- three Ford Ranger Wildtrak vehicles.
It is known that the transferred equipment will be used by Romanian police "for specific activities related to the detection and identification of radioactive materials."
It’s worth noting that this assistance from the US is being prepared against the backdrop of nuclear threats from Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Recently, Putin once again resorted to nuclear blackmail. In one of his statements, he claimed that Russia's nuclear weapons are supposedly superior to those of NATO.

Additionally, it should be noted that Ukraine also responded to Putin’s nuclear threats yesterday.
