The US is to allocate over $130 million for the modernization of air defense systems in Ukraine, according to Bridget Brink, the US Ambassador to Ukraine.

"Today we signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with $138M in critical air defense system upgrades," the Ambassador reported.

According to Brink, this funding will help keep Ukraine’s air defenses operating during Russia's continuous attacks on the energy grid and the Ukrainian people.

Consequences of the delay in US aid for Ukraine

At the end of February, Zelenskyy said that without the help of the United States, Ukraine would lose many people at the front. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces would not be able to gain new successes on the battlefield and would be forced to retreat.

Recently, he repeated that Ukraine will have to retreat step by step if the United States does not resume military assistance.

At the latest Ramstein meeting, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin stated that the United States would not allow Ukraine to lose in the war against Russia.

Massive shelling of the Ukrainian energy sector

In March, Russia resumed its attacks on Ukraine's energy sector. After the massive attacks, the most difficult situation is in Kharkiv and the region, where the Zmiivka TPP and CHP-5 were heavily damaged.

Last night, the Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones and missiles. The Air Force reported that the occupiers used 42 missiles of various types and 40 drones. Some of the targets were shot down by air defense.

The enemy attacked Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia regions. The Russians attacked critical infrastructure facilities and damaged the power grid.

In particular, the attack completely destroyed the Trypillia thermal power plant near Kyiv, and Centrenergo lost 100% of its generation.
