US Senate majority leader arrives in Ukraine

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer arrived in Ukraine on February 23. He will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Democrat posted a photo taken in Lviv. The US delegation is accompanied by US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.
"I am leading this delegation to meet with President Zelenskyy to show the Ukrainian people that America stands with them, to show our NATO and European allies we stand with them, to learn about the arms Ukraine vitally needs, and to protect our democracy and national security," Schumer writes on X.

Delay with US aid
On February 13, the US Senate approved a bill to provide $95 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. In particular, more than $60 billion is earmarked for Ukraine.
For the bill to come into force, it must still be approved by the US House of Representatives and signed by President Joe Biden.
House Speaker Mike Johnson opposed the initiative. In turn, President Joe Biden called on the House of Representatives to urgently approve the bill.
However, the US House of Representatives adjourned until February 28, thus postponing consideration of the aid for Ukraine.
