US representative condemns Russia’s strike on Kyiv

US Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine Julie Davis commented on the consequences of Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv on the night of May 24, calling strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure unacceptable, according to the US Embassy in Ukraine on X.
US reaction to the attack
Julie Davis said she personally visited the site of the strike and witnessed the destruction with her own eyes. According to her, deliberate attacks on civilian facilities and peaceful residents are unacceptable.
"Deliberate strikes on civilian populations and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable. As President Trump has stated before, this war must end," she stressed.
The diplomat also added that the US Embassy expresses condolences to all those injured and affected by the attack.
Consequences of the strike on Kyiv
As a result of the Russian army’s strike on Kyiv during the night of May 24, damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded, including the building of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the latest data, two people were killed, and more than 90 were injured.
International reaction
The following day, representatives of more than 70 countries, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, visited areas of Kyiv affected by the recent attack, including the Lukianivka district, to assess the scale of the destruction.
On the night of May 24, Russian forces launched a massive strike on Kyiv using missiles and drones.
The Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who, according to investigators, helped coordinate one of Russia’s largest attacks on Kyiv during the night of May 24.
