US President Donald Trump's team wants to receive a response from Ukraine on the peace plan as soon as possible, according to RBC-Ukraine's government source.

Commenting on an FT report suggesting that Trump allegedly wants a peace agreement by Christmas, the RBC-Ukraine source said no such deadline has been set.

The source explained that Trump's team is indeed expecting a quick response, which could come by Christmas, but there is no specific date requirement.

Rumors about Trump's deadline

Earlier, the Financial Times, citing sources, reported that US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation that they expect a response on US peace initiatives in the coming days.

The sources added that Trump allegedly wants to secure a peace deal by Christmas.

The positions of the US and Ukraine on ending the war are not fully aligned. In particular, President Zelenskyy said there is no agreement on the Donbas issue.

The Ukrainian President emphasized that the US expects Ukraine to make a territorial compromise.

At the same time, Zelenskyy said Ukraine will not give Russia any of its territories that are not even occupied.
