Patriot for Ukraine

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had announced the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, funded by NATO allies, saying that Kyiv would receive 17 systems.

At a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, participants pledged assistance to strengthen air defense.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that his country was ready to provide two Patriot systems but warned that this would be possible only if they were promptly replaced.

Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans also said that his country was prepared to make a significant contribution to the transfer of US-made systems to Ukraine.

On July 22, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz noted that Berlin and Norway would be making an important contribution.
