On Sunday, November 30, senior US officials will meet with a Ukrainian delegation to discuss a peace plan, reports Reuters.
"US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will meet Ukrainian officials on Sunday in Florida," a senior official told Reuters.
US peace plan
A few weeks ago, the US presented Ukraine with a new plan to end the war. It consisted of 28 points and was widely seen as highly favorable to Russia.
Under the plan, Ukraine would have had to withdraw from the Donetsk region, reduce its military, give up long-range weapons, and comply with several other difficult demands.
For this reason, on Sunday, November 23, delegations from the US, Ukraine, and Europe met in Geneva to finalize the document and make it more favorable to Kyiv. Media reports indicated that the plan was reduced from 28 to 19 points.
Officially, the US and Ukraine said that the final details would be agreed upon during a personal meeting between President Donald Trump and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Revisions to the peace plan are still underway. Zelenskyy announced today that Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and head of the Ukrainian delegation after the resignation of Presidential Office Chief Andriy Yermak, is already on his way to the US to continue coordinating the document.
Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump announced that he is sending his Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to Moscow. He is expected to be there next week to discuss the peace plan as well.
