US President Donald Trump specified when his special envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to Moscow for negotiations on a peace agreement with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, according to a White House broadcast.

“They're going to be meeting with President Putin, I believe, next week in Moscow,” Trump said.

He also did not rule out that Witkoff might travel to the Russian capital alongside his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who participated in the Geneva negotiations on the peace plan.

“Not sure about Jared going, but he's involved in the process,” said the White House chief.

Negotiations on the US peace plan

Trump previously stated that Witkoff will hold talks with Putin in Moscow, while US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll will meet with the Ukrainian side to advance coordination of the peace plan between the US, Ukraine, and Russia.

Regarding progress on the so-called US peace plan, Ukrainian, European, and American representatives recently held negotiations in Geneva. According to media reports, instead of the original 28 points, the plan was reduced to 19.

The revised peace plan reportedly removed territorial concessions to Russia and the reduction of the Ukrainian army.

At the same time, the Kremlin stated that it will not accept the plan if it does not include the conditions outlined by Putin in Alaska when he met with Trump on August 15.
