“In the morning, I was in contact with the President of Ukraine: I reported on the state of preparations, key positions, and expected results of the next stage of the talks. In the United States, we will continue coordinating all the developments that were formed during the meetings in Geneva,” he added.

Peace talks on ending the war
This week, peace negotiations continued, once again moving off dead center with the arrival in Ukraine of the new US envoy Dan Driscoll.
According to RBC-Ukraine’s sources, the parties managed to agree on most of the provisions of the US plan. A significant part of the disputed points was adjusted. Among other things, this concerns the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the format of prisoner exchanges, and the return of convicted persons.
Also last week, US President Donald Trump announced that he is sending his special envoy Steve Witkoff to Moscow and US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to Kyiv. American officials will discuss the peace plan to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Earlier, Trump, as well as Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, stated that Witkoff would arrive in Moscow next week.
Russian president Vladimir Putin has already said that he wants to discuss the legal recognition of Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories as Russian.
According to The Telegraph, Trump is ready to recognize Russia’s control over the occupied territories of Ukraine. The outlet writes that he is sending not only Witkoff to Moscow but also his son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Earlier, Zelenskyy approved by decree the composition of the delegation that will take part in peace talks with the United States as well as with representatives of Russia.
