The US and Israel have been attacking Iran daily for five weeks now. But despite this, about half of the country's missile launchers remain intact, and thousands of drones are still in the arsenal, according to CNN.
"They are still very much poised to wreak absolute havoc throughout the entire region," one source said about Iran.
As CNN writes, the US intelligence assessment may include launchers that are not yet accessible. For example, those that have been buried underground due to strikes but have not been destroyed.
According to two sources, Iran still retains thousands of drones — approximately 50% of its entire arsenal.
Intelligence data in recent days has also shown that a significant portion of Iran's coastal defense cruise missiles remain undamaged, which is consistent with the fact that the US has not concentrated its air campaign on military facilities along the coast, although it has struck ships.
CNN explains that those missiles are a key means by which Iran can threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
CNN added that the intelligence obtained provides a more detailed picture of Iran's capabilities compared to the general assessments of military victory voiced by US President Donald Trump and his administration officials.
Trump demands a deal
On the night of April 2, US President Donald Trump addressed the nation. In his address, he spoke about the achievements of US forces in the operation against Iran, and also announced that within 2–3 weeks, the US would deliver the most powerful strike, after which Iran would be sent back to the Stone Age. Incidentally, Trump named that timeframe as the end of the war.
Also, on the afternoon of April 2, Trump stated that US and Israeli forces had destroyed Iran's largest bridge — B1, which connected Tehran and Karaj. He once again called on Iran to make a deal before it is too late.
