US imposes sanctions against son of Russian Defense Minister
The United States has today, August 23, added Pavel Belousov, the son of the Russian Defense Minister, to the sanctions list, according to the US Department of the Treasury and Vazhnye Istorii.
In addition to Pavel Belousov, sanctions have also been imposed on his wife, Yevgenia.
The US has also applied restrictions to the company Claire&Clarté, which, according to Vazhnye Istorii, is managed by Belousov.
This company had, among other activities, contracted with NPO (Scientific and Production Association) Energomash, Russia's main producer of engines for launch vehicles and intercontinental ballistic missiles. As part of the contract, Belousov's firm was obligated to "improve production efficiency" at several workshops.
Claire&Clarté's official website lists its partners as the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rostec, Roscosmos, and Rosatom.
