After Donald Trump imposed additional tariffs on goods from all trading partners, China will face the highest overall tariff rate - 54%, according to the material by RBC-Ukraine.

According to data published by the White House on April 2, the US imposed a 34% tariff on Chinese imports. This is about half the tariff rate that Beijing applies to US imports (67%).

Since March, the US has already applied a 20% tariff on trade with China. With the new tariff set to take effect on April 9, the total restrictive measures will reach 54%.

China has urged the US to immediately lift the new tariffs, warning that it will take countermeasures to protect its interests.

Last month, China retaliated by imposing 10-15% tariffs on certain US agricultural products, including poultry, grains, and cotton. A 10% duty was introduced on beef, pork, seafood, and fruit.

Additionally, China's Ministry of Commerce placed 15 US firms, including several companies linked to defense and security, on its export control list. These firms now require special permits to receive dual-use goods.

China maintains a significant trade surplus with the US. Out of a total trade volume of $688.28 billion, China's exports to the US amount to $524.66 billion, while US exports to China stand at $163.62 billion.

China primarily exports electronic devices to the US, including smartphones, laptops, and tablets. It also exports household appliances, electric vehicles, solar panels, clothing, footwear, consumer goods, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

Meanwhile, the US exports semiconductors and electronics, such as microchips, processors, and semiconductor materials, as well as agricultural products, aviation equipment, automobiles, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and crude oil.

The US has imposed new tariffs on imports from all trading partners, potentially affecting global markets and prices.

For Ukraine, a separate 10% tariff will be introduced, which will primarily affect small manufacturers.

Ukraine plans to negotiate with the US to improve trade conditions.
