New meeting on peace talks
Zelenskyy said a new trilateral meeting between representatives of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia should take place before autumn.
The president said he received new proposals following a phone call on July 22 with US President Donald Trump's special envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. The American side will discuss these proposals with the Russian side.
"I think there will be a trilateral meeting. We definitely need to do all of this before autumn. I think we have to work very hard on it," Zelenskyy said.
The president added that the meeting could have taken place as early as July if it depended solely on Ukraine.
"But not everything depends on us," he said.
US is focused on Iran
Zelenskyy also noted that the United States is currently focused on Iran.
"The ceasefire in Iran is not the kind of ceasefire everyone was hoping for," the president said.
On July 22, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's successes on the battlefield and its strikes inside Russia are creating a toxic atmosphere around Vladimir Putin, and his inner circle recognizes it.
Zelenskyy also discussed restarting negotiations with Russia during a conversation with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to accelerate an end to the war in Ukraine.
