US government sabotaging Musk's 5 accomplishments initiative – WP

The United States is facing difficulties implementing Elon Musk's initiative, requiring federal employees to report 5 accomplishments. According to media reports, the government is sabotaging the requirement, and some agencies have even stopped requesting the reports altogether, The Washington Post reports.
The initiative by Elon Musk and Donald Trump, which mandated weekly reports from all federal employees in the form of emails listing five accomplishments, is gradually fading within US government structures.
At the same time, Musk himself is preparing to step down from his government role later this year.
Despite a stern warning that failure to comply with the requirement would effectively be considered a resignation, just two days after the initiative was launched, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced that submitting the reports would be voluntary.
Most agencies are following inconsistent policies: some have stopped requesting the reports altogether, while others formally maintain the requirement but do not monitor compliance.
Records obtained by The Washington Post and comments from dozens of officials indicate that Musk’s idea was met with mixed reactions and is often mocked.
Some employees even began responding in Russian to confuse whoever was reviewing the messages.
"I don’t think I should have to justify my job to some unknown entity, especially when I’m handling private customer information," said a federal employee.
Some employees have been submitting reports with humorous content or translating them into foreign languages.
DOGE, led by Elon Musk, gained access to a secret US Department of Justice system containing data on millions of migrants. This has raised privacy concerns.
The data includes names, addresses, medical histories, court testimonies, and interactions with law enforcement. Access to the system was granted to a group of DOGE "advisors" linked to Musk's private entities.
