On Friday, September 6, US Deputy Secretary of State and Acting US Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Richard Verma arrived in Kyiv on a visit, according to US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.

"Great to welcome back to Kyiv!" Brink wrote.

According to her, the Deputy Secretary came to discuss US support for Ukraine's economic recovery.

On August 26, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal had a conversation with the acting US Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma.

Shmyhal informed Verma about the damage to civilian infrastructure as a result of Russia's massive air attack.

"Financial assistance from the US is extremely important for us. Part of it supports the energy sector. We are preparing for a difficult heating season and need more equipment from our partners to build a decentralized energy system. I outlined our urgent needs," the Prime Minister said.

Shmyhal also emphasized the importance of complete confiscation of the frozen assets of Russia and directing resources to support Ukraine.
