US Congresswoman Greene spreads false claim about Ukraine protests

The far-right US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene spread false information about mass protests in Kyiv. However, Ukrainians quickly denied these statements.
Greene said that people took to the streets, allegedly against President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his refusal to end the war in Ukraine.
Greene posted a video on X in which protesters shout: "Hands off the NABU!" which was filmed during a protest after the adoption of the controversial Law 12414, which reduced the independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
However, the congresswoman decided that the mass protests in Kyiv allegedly broke out because of Zelenskyy.
"Huge protests erupt in Kyiv against Ukrainian President Zelenskyy as he is a dictator and refuses to make a peace deal and end the war. Good for the Ukrainian people! Throw him out of office!" she wrote.
Moreover, she called on the United States to stop funding and supplying weapons to Ukraine.
However, in the comments, Ukrainians explained to Greene that she was mistaken and that the reason for the protests was not Zelenskyy, but a law that weakened NABU and SAPO.
Volunteers and public figures, including Serhii Sternenko and Ihor Lachenkov, reacted to this fake in the comments under the post.
Protests against Law 12414
Recall that on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that significantly curtails the powers of the NABU and SAPO. At the same time, the powers of the Prosecutor General were expanded. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the same day, and the next day it came into force.
This caused a public outcry - Ukrainians across the country took to the streets to protest.
Against this backdrop, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine warned that Russian special services and propagandists are studying the situation around the protests. According to them, Russia may resort to provocations.
Meanwhile, the Center for Countering Disinformation noted that Russia is already distorting the content of the rallies. And Russian propaganda is generally using photoshop and forging photos from the protests, trying to pretend that the protests are against the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
RBC-Ukraine article explained what is wrong with the law on NABU and SAPO and what solution Zelenskyy proposes.
