A House Republican, Randy Fine, has introduced a bill in Congress on the Greenland annexation, Fox News reports.
According to the outlet, the bill would authorize US President Donald Trump "to take such steps as may be necessary" to acquire Greenland and launch the process of its incorporation into the United States.

Fine himself told the outlet that US sovereignty over Greenland is in the interest of the entire world.
"Congress would still have to choose to make it a state, but this would simply authorize the president to do what he's doing and say the Congress stands behind him. And then it would expedite it into becoming a state, but it would still be up to Congress about whether to do that," he explained.
The congressman believes that US control over Greenland would benefit the island’s residents.
"Their poverty rate is high. Denmark hasn't treated them well. When war came to town, Denmark couldn't protect them. Guess who protected Greenland during World War II? We did," he added.
Fine also believes that the best way for the US to acquire Greenland is to buy it.
"The poverty rate in Greenland is much, much higher than it is in Denmark. The country is run by socialists, and it is not in America's interests to have a territory that large between the United States and Russia run by socialists," he said.
Trump criticizes Greenland’s defense
US President Donald Trump previously said that Greenland’s defense is "two dog sleds."
The American leader insisted that if the island does not become part of the United States, it could fall under the control of Russia or China.
Trump’s statements about annexing Greenland sound even more threatening after the US carried out an operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
