If Elon Musk did indeed order the slowdown of Ukraine’s military Starlink service, an investigation must be conducted. This is a violation of the law, Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick said during an interview with CNN.
Fitzpatrick noted that if Elon Musk ordered Starlink to be slowed down in Ukraine, “that is likely a violation of the law.”
"We've gotta investigate...We've got to call the witnesses, got to bring them in, put them under oath, and get to the bottom of it. Because this is a very, very serious matter. It cannot be glossed over," he stressed.
Democratic Congresswoman Elizabeth Ann Warren also called for an investigation.
"We'd like to know exactly who is responsible for what happened. If it is one man, Elon Musk, who is dictating our foreign policy, then he puts the US at enormous risk," she noted.
Earlier, media reports said that billionaire Elon Musk had personally ordered the slowdown of the military version of Starlink, which Ukraine relies on. The decision reportedly sparked panic in Kyiv and confusion within the Trump administration.
At the same time, US officials insist that Washington has issued no orders to restrict Starlink for Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in recent days. Their discussion covered intelligence on Russian ballistic missiles, interceptor missiles, and the restoration of Starlink.
