US concerned over drone strikes on Russian airfields

The Ukrainian drone strike on Russia’s strategic aviation airfields has increased the risk of conflict escalation. The United States is working to prevent this.
This was stated by US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, according to his interview with Fox News.
The official noted that during wartime, when "you attack an opponent's part of the national survival system, which is their triad, the nuclear triad, that means you realise the risk levels would go up."
He explained that it’s impossible to predict how the other side will respond, adding that this is essentially what Ukraine did. He emphasized that this is precisely what the US is trying to avoid, as reaching that point would be undesirable.
Trump’s special envoy added that the psychological impact of the drone strikes was more significant than the material losses caused by the destruction of the bombers.
He noted that the operation dealt a huge embarrassment to Russia’s image, showing that "Ukraine is not lying down on that". According to Kellogg, "Ukraine is basically saying, 'We can play this game too.'"
Spiderweb operation
On Sunday, June 1, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) carried out a large-scale special operation named Spiderweb, targeting five Russian airfields that host strategic aviation.
As a result, 41 military aircraft were destroyed, equivalent to 34% of Russia’s entire strategic aviation fleet.
Additionally, SBU drones struck a Russian nuclear submarine base in Severomorsk.
Experts described the operation as a serious blow to Russia’s nuclear capabilities.
