After US strikes on Iran on the night of June 22, American law enforcement agencies have increased security measures. Authorities are closely monitoring potential domestic threats, according to CNN.

Following the US airstrikes on Iran on Saturday, American law enforcement agencies have stepped up monitoring of the situation in the Middle East, carefully analyzing intelligence regarding potential threats to the country.

According to a CNN source familiar with the coordination efforts, the US Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and other agencies at the federal, state, and local levels are closely watching for possible reactions from Iran or other countries in response to US actions.

The head of the Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, emphasized on social media that the agency is working to strengthen homeland security.

The police departments of New York City and Washington, D.C., reported sharing intelligence with federal partners and increasing law enforcement presence near religious sites. While no direct threats to the US capital have been detected so far, local authorities are taking measures to protect residents, businesses, and tourists.

Heightened security measures have also been implemented around strategic locations in Washington, including the White House, the Pentagon, and the Israeli Embassy. This is part of the standard protocol in case of conflicts of this scale.

New York Police stated that, for security reasons, they are deploying additional resources to protect religious, cultural, and diplomatic institutions across the city.

US strikes on Iran on June 22

On June 22, 2025, the United States carried out airstrikes on three key Iranian nuclear sites — Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. President Donald Trump called the operation "spectacular military success."

However, Israel was forced to urgently close its airspace amid expectations of retaliatory strikes on the Jewish state from Tehran.

President Trump also promised that the US would continue strikes if Tehran refuses to negotiate a new nuclear deal.
