The United States has approved the delivery of equipment to Ukraine to support its Patriot air defense systems and the funding of related Starlink services, according to a statement from Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"The US has approved the sale of more than $300 million in equipment to Ukraine to support Patriot systems and the purchase and maintenance of Starlink," the minister explained.

According to him, the US State Department approved the sale of equipment supporting the Patriot air defense system and related equipment for Ukraine worth $179.1 million.

"Patriot air defense systems are vital for Ukraine. They protect our people, our cities, and critical infrastructure from continuous Russian air attacks," Shmyhal emphasized.

In addition, the US State Department approved the sale of Starlink satellite communication services and equipment for an estimated $150 million.

US begins providing aid to Ukraine

Notably, overnight, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker reported that the United States is supplying Ukraine with weapons capable of striking targets deep inside Russia.

It was previously reported that the US will deliver over 3,000 ERAM long-range missiles to Ukraine, along with additional military equipment, totaling $825 million.

Furthermore, Ambassador Whitaker recently did not rule out increasing the volume of military aid to NATO countries, which may later be transferred to Ukraine.
