US Ambassador voices solidarity with Ukraine after Kryvyi Rih tragedy

US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink has once again responded to the tragedy in Kryvyi Rih, which followed a Russian missile strike.
“We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine on this day of national mourning after a Russian missile attack in Krivvy Rih killed 20, including nine children. Our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed and injured,” Brink wrote.
It is worth noting that Brink also posted a photo of the US flag at half-mast as a sign of mourning.

Backlash over Brink’s earlier statement
Last Friday, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on the city of Kryvyi Rih. Twenty people were killed, nine of them children.
Brink reacted to the strike at the time. However, in her original post, she did not specify that the city had been hit by a Russian ballistic missile.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to her remarks, saying he was "unpleasantly surprised" by what he called a weak response from the US Embassy.
"Unfortunately, the response from the US Embassy is surprisingly disappointing – such a strong country, such a strong people, and yet such a weak reaction. They are afraid to even say the word 'Russian' when speaking about the missile that murdered children," the president stressed.
As a reminder, April 6 has been declared a day of mourning in Ukraine. Entertainment events across the regions have been canceled.
