In Kryvyi Rih, Russian forces struck residential areas with a missile and drones, killing 19 people and injuring dozens. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the channel of Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, the channel of Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, and the Telegram account of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
On the evening of April 4 and the night of April 5, Kryvyi Rih endured a massive attack from Russia: first, a ballistic missile strike, followed by Shahed-type attack drones. At least 19 people were killed, including 9 children.
As a result of the terrorist attacks, 68 people were injured.
Extensive destruction
As a result of the massive attacks, 34 apartment buildings, six educational institutions, shops, restaurants, and dozens of cars were damaged. The strike targeted civilians, including children's playgrounds and schools.
By 02:45, emergency and rescue operations were completed. Utility workers worked throughout the night. Tram service on the Druzhba route was restored by 06:00. Some buildings are still without electricity and gas as repair work continues.
At the impact sites, Aid Headquarters were immediately set up. They operated throughout the night and continue to work during the day. Necessary building materials — OSB boards, film, and beams — are being provided to residents, and applications for financial assistance are being accepted.
"Despite all the challenges, in Kryvyi Rih, all services, public transport, hospitals, and social institutions are functioning," said Oleksandr Vilkul.
