The United States admits the possibility of new North Korean forces being deployed to Russia. Yet, no more soldiers have been transferred so far, says US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller at a briefing.

The journalists asked him whether new units of North Korean soldiers were being transferred to Russia amid the losses. Miller noted that he had no information on new DPRK soldiers arriving in Russia, but that such a possibility was not ruled out.

“...but we continue to assess that might – that’s a possibility, but it’s not something we’ve seen as to date,” the spokesman said.

He added that the United States had recorded North Korean troop losses in the Kursk region, both killed and wounded.

DPRK troops at war

In the fall, the DPRK sent thousands of troops to Russia, who are involved in the fighting in the Kursk region. North Korean forces are already suffering losses.

Ukrainian intelligence reported that the losses of Russian and North Korean soldiers in Russia amounted to about 200 soldiers.

Ukrainian forces also do not rule out the possibility that Russia could throw North Korean troops into eastern Ukraine, given the enemy's significant losses.
