DPRK troops could join Russian units in eastern Ukraine
The Russians might deploy North Korean soldiers in battles in eastern Ukraine. The occupiers could resort to such a step due to significant losses, according to the spokesperson of the Khortytsia operational strategic group Khortytsia, Nazar Voloshyn.
He noted that the Russians have started using North Korean soldiers in composite units. However, the Defense Forces currently do not have information about the involvement of DPRK military personnel in combat operations in eastern Ukraine.
"It is possible that soon, due to heavy losses in the eastern directions, representatives of North Korea may also be deployed to our frontlines, where they would participate in combat operations alongside Russian soldiers," Voloshyn said.
According to the spokesperson, Ukrainian defenders are ready to repel North Korean soldiers, and, like Russian invaders, they will be eliminated.
DPRK soldiers already fighting
It should be recalled that on Saturday, December 14, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russia plans soon to involve DPRK soldiers in assaults in the Kursk region.
That same evening, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that North Korean military personnel are already participating in battles in the Kursk region. According to him, Ukraine has information about the potential deployment of DPRK soldiers to other frontline areas.
According to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR), as of December 14, the approximate losses of units staffed with Russian and North Korean soldiers amount to about 200 servicemen.
