Last night, July 9, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine's Lutsk, using around 50 attack drones and 5 missiles, informs Ivan Rudnytskyi, head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration.

"Last night, our region once again came under a massive attack. Almost everything was targeting Lutsk. In total, about 50 UAVs and 5 missiles were detected in the airspace over Volyn. Information about possible hits is currently being clarified," Rudnytskyi said.

According to him, fires are currently being extinguished at warehouse facilities of one of Lutsk's enterprises, as well as in a garage cooperative.

"And most importantly – as of now, there are no reports of injuries or fatalities," added the head of the Volyn Administration.

Lutsk under attack

On the night of July 9, Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Kyiv and other cities, but Russia's primary target was western Ukraine.

According to the city's mayor, Lutsk experienced its largest drone and missile attack to date during the night. The strikes caused fires and damage.

Russia also targeted Lutsk on June 6, launching 15 drones and six missiles at the city. That attack damaged apartment buildings, vehicles, and educational institutions. Additionally, missiles struck a hotel where members of Ukraine’s national track and field team were staying.
