Unknown individuals attack Swedish Embassy in Moscow
A group of unknown individuals attacked the Swedish Embassy in Moscow, using gas canisters, Dagens industri informs.
According to media reports, three unidentified men threw bottles and sprayed gas canisters inside the security room near the embassy. They were later detained by local police.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs later stated that they were aware of the incident and were in communication with the embassy in Moscow regarding the matter. However, they declined to comment further on the incident, journalists added.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time the Swedish Embassy in Russia has been targeted by unknown individuals. In February of this year, masked people threw packages containing feces at the building. The incident occurred after Sweden voted to join NATO, and, according to Russian media, it was linked to Sweden's accession to the defense alliance.
Risks of NATO-Russia war
Ukraine and some Western countries do not rule out the possibility of Russia launching a war against NATO. In Kyiv, there are speculations that Poland or the Baltic states could be the next targets of the Kremlin.
Estonian intelligence notes that Russia is already preparing for a new conflict, which could begin within the next decade. Meanwhile, in Germany, there are concerns that Moscow could initiate aggression against NATO as early as 2029.
It is also worth noting that earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that NATO countries need to change the trajectory of Russia's war against Ukraine.
