The Kaleykino oil pumping station, part of the trunk pipeline system, is located in Almetyevsk, the center of Tatarstan’s oil production.
Major production facilities of Tatneft are situated in close proximity to Almetyevsk.
Reports say a large fire broke out at the Kaleykino station following the drone strike.
Local sources note that the Almetyevsk area is considered one of the key starting nodes of the Druzhba pipeline.
Through local stations, including infrastructure around Kaleykino, oil from Tatarstan and neighboring regions feeds into the main pipeline, which runs through the Samara region and continues westward toward Belarus and further to countries in Eastern and Central Europe.
Ukrainian defence forces previously struck the Vtorovo oil pumping station in Russia’s Vladimir region.
There were also earlier reports that Ukrainian forces carried out several attacks on Druzhba pipeline infrastructure inside Russia, which at times disrupted Russian oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia.
