An unidentified drone was detected flying over the airport in the Norwegian city of Brønnøysund, NRK reports.

Unidentified drones in the airport area were detected by air traffic control staff at 20:17 on Tuesday, September 30. Around 21:50, the police responded to the call and began searching for the pilot, but were unable to locate them.

"We observed the drone in the air but could not identify the pilot operating it. After some time searching, we concluded the operation at the scene," said Morten Sørensen, a representative of the Nordland police district.

In addition, drones were observed in the no-fly zone near the airport on the evening of Sunday, September 28. At that time, one Widerøe aircraft was diverted from Brønnøysund Airport to another airfield.

Caroline Persen, spokesperson for Avinor, which operates Norwegian airports, stated that despite the incident, the last flight landed as scheduled. The airport will resume operations on the morning of October 1.

Flights of unidentified drones

Over the past two weeks, numerous flights of unidentified drones have been recorded over military and infrastructure facilities in Poland and the northern European countries.

On September 27, drones were observed in the area of the Ørland Air Base in Norway. A large number of F-35 fighter jets are stationed at this airfield, and NATO exercises have recently been taking place there.

On the same day, drones were spotted for the second time in Denmark, specifically over the airports in Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, and in the vicinity of the Skrydstrup Air Base.

On September 29, a drone flight was observed over the Equinor gas field in the North Sea.
