The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), in its latest report, verified six new cases of extrajudicial executions of Ukrainian detainees and confirmed the authenticity of a video depicting the killing of a Ukrainian serviceman after he uttered the phrase "Slava Ukraini" (Glory to Ukraine), according to the OHCHR report.

OHCHR documented six additional cases of extrajudicial executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war, all of which occurred before the reporting period. The office also continued to document reports of torture and ill-treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Russia, as well as the horrific conditions of detention, including forced labor, in the new report.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) also investigated two videos that surfaced on March 6 and April 11, 2023, depicting occupiers torturing and executing two Ukrainian servicemen.

"On the first video, Russian military personnel shot a Ukrainian prisoner of war after he said "Glory to Ukraine." On the second video, a Russian soldier beheaded a Ukrainian serviceman. Both video recordings, presumably taken before the reporting period, are authentic," the report states.

In total, out of 56 Ukrainian servicemen interviewed by OHCHR during the reporting period, 51 reported being subjected to various forms of torture and cruel treatment.

The report covers the period from February 1 to July 31, 2023. The report and its findings are based on data collected during field missions, visits to places of detention, as well as remote monitoring of the occupied territory.

Execution of Ukrainian military personnel after saying "Glory to Ukraine"

It should be noted that on April 11, a video emerged online depicting Russian occupiers brutally executing a Ukrainian serviceman.

Subsequently, Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner, Dmytro Lubinets, stated that Ukrainian intelligence had preliminarily identified the individuals responsible for the killing.

Shortly thereafter, Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, asserted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin bears responsibility for the brutal execution of a Ukrainian serviceman by his soldiers.
