In November, a UN Security Council meeting will be held to mark the 1 000 days of Russia's war against Ukraine. This was announced by the United Kingdom, which holds the presidency of the Council this month, states British Permanent Representative to the UN, Barbara Woodward.

The meeting is scheduled for the afternoon of November 18 and will be chaired by British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

Woodward presented the Security Council's agenda for November, highlighting that priority will be given to issues related to the three largest conflicts in the world: the consequences and risks of the war in the Middle East, Russia's violations of Ukraine's territorial integrity, and sovereignty, and the conflict in Sudan.

According to the diplomat, the UK will use its presidency of the UN Security Council to expose Russian disinformation and their crimes.

Woodward also noted that the Russian delegation blocked the approval of the Security Council's schedule for November specifically due to the planned discussion of the Ukrainian issue. However, she emphasized that this would not prevent the meeting from being held outside the schedule at the request of member states.

Chaos in the world is the work of Russia

The British representative at the UN emphasized that London will continue to support Ukraine's struggle for its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principles of the UN Charter. She stated that the international community will not rest, as Putin will not stop at Ukraine.

The British envoy drew attention to the level of chaos and the number of conflicts worldwide associated with Russia.

"Russia has not denied the fact that it's doing deals with North Korea to use North Korean troops as cannon fodder for its disastrous war," she remarked.

Additionally, she noted that Russia is also procuring drones and munitions from Iran and financing support for terrorism in the Middle East. According to her, Iran and North Korea are demanding a high price for their support from Moscow. She added that Russia has few options left to meet the demands of its partners.

Woodward underscored that Moscow is connected to most conflicts around the globe.

North Korean military participation in the war in Ukraine

North Korea has reached an agreement with Russia for the involvement of its military in the war against Ukraine.

According to US intelligence, there are currently 8,000 North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region.

Ukrainian intelligence does not rule out that by the end of the year, Pyongyang and Russia plan to deploy up to 12,000 North Korean troops, who will participate in combat in the Kursk region.

On October 30, a UN Security Council meeting was convened to discuss the deployment of North Korean troops to the front lines, initiated by Ukraine.

During the meeting, the Russian representative dismissed the information regarding the deployment of North Korean soldiers as disinformation.
