Umerov and Syrskyi hold important negotiations with U.S. general: Topics discussed
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov introduced the new Сommander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, Charles Brown, during a phone call.
"An important and productive call with General Charles Brown, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff," Umerov wrote.
According to him, Syrskyi briefed the U.S. general on his priorities in his new position and outlined further steps.
The discussion also addressed the action plan on the front line and outlined steps in bilateral cooperation.
Replacement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Yesterday, February 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
This happened after there were many rumors last week about Zelenskyy's decision to retire Zaluzhnyi.
The new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is Oleksandr Syrskyi, who previously served as Commander of the Ground Forces.
