Ukrainian defenders managed to take back two captured comrades from a Russian soldier. The operation was carried out using drones alone, according to the 225th Separate Assault Regiment.
In a video released by the regiment, a reconnaissance drone spotted a Russian soldier escorting two Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Several strike drones were then sent to the location. When the enemy soldier heard them approaching, he made a fatal decision — he ran to the nearest house and tried to hide there. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian POWs fled into another building.
As a result, the Russian soldier was trapped, while the captured Ukrainian troops managed to escape.
The 225th Separate Assault Regiment noted that infantry was not even needed for the operation.
Drone rescue missions
Earlier, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, aerial reconnaissance units from the Kara-Dag brigade carried out a unique operation to rescue two soldiers from a Ukrainian tank brigade. The wounded troops were located just a few hundred meters from Russian positions.
Using drones, the guards dropped water, medicine, and a note with instructions: "Drink water and follow the drone — our forces are there."
Thanks to this, both defenders, one of whom had a severe injury, were successfully evacuated.
