Ukrainian troops eliminate half a Russian battalion in one day in Luhansk region

Fighters from Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade delivered a powerful blow to Russian forces in the Luhansk region. They repelled an enemy assault and eliminated half a Russian army battalion, according to the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.
Russian troops launched a large-scale assault on positions held by three battalions of the brigade near the settlement of Nadiia. They attempted to recapture lost positions. However, they suffered a complete defeat at the brigade’s lines.
“All battalion-level assets of the 1st Assault, 2nd Mechanized, and 1st Mechanized Battalions were used to eliminate the enemy. Artillery, aerial drops, and FPV drone units targeted the occupiers. The infantry engaged in a firefight on the ground,” the brigade reported.
In just one day, the Russian army lost half a battalion: 143 killed and 86 wounded.
The enemy failed to reclaim any previously lost positions or gain new ground.
The brigade also released video footage showcasing their successful operation.
The 3rd Assault Brigade noted the participation of the Battalion of Unmanned Systems, Anti-Tank Unit, Artillery Battalion Vershnyky Hromu and the Self-Propelled Artillery Unit Komanda Postril.
Ukrainian forces achieve more battlefield successes
Elsewhere, near Pokrovsk, FPV drone operators from the UAV battalion and aerial reconnaissance unit of the 14th Operational Brigade of the National Guard, Chervona Kalyna, destroyed a Russian infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) along with its troops during a joint operation.
In Eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces successfully targeted a 2S5 Giatsint-S self-propelled artillery system, a Tigr armored vehicle, several trucks, enemy positions and shelters, as well as a fuel and lubricant depot.
Additionally, drone operators from the Phoenix UAV unit of the Pomsta brigade struck and destroyed a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, a 120-mm mortar, a pontoon bridge, and two Russian IFVs during operations in the Luhansk region.
Situation at the front
The situation at the frontline remained extremely tense over the past day.
A total of 159 combat engagements were registered along the entire frontline. Russian troops continue active assault operations, massively using aviation, artillery, drones, and other means of destruction.
In addition, the Russian troops lost 1,290 soldiers over the past day.
