The Ukrainian army needs people, ammunition, and weapons to continue conducting military operations. Specifically, they need people capable of carrying out assigned tasks, according to a statement by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

"Most important to me is that people come to the military and can carry out the assigned tasks. Who gets a deferral or who doesn’t, who the state will call up—that's not my competence today," he noted.

According to him, there are central executive authorities responsible for determining whom to call up.

"I need people, I need ammunition, and I need weapons to continue military operations," Zaluzhnyi added.

It's worth noting that earlier, Zaluzhnyi mentioned it was too early to assess the initiative of recruiting for the Defense Forces but believed that mobilization should not be intensified as much as returning to previous frameworks. He also criticized the dismissal of regional military committees, which comprised professionals familiar with the operations.

Mobilization in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned in a press conference that the General Staff requested an additional mobilization of 450-500 thousand people. He stated the necessity for a comprehensive plan addressing even those who had been in combat for almost two years without rest.

The Cabinet of Ministers recently submitted a substantial bill on mobilization to the Parliament. It proposes lowering the age limit from 27 to 25, reducing the list of categories exempt from mobilization, sending summons to territorial recruitment centers via email, and other initiatives.

Today, Valerii Zaluzhnyi has stated that the General Staff and the Armed Forces have not made any submissions to the Cabinet of Ministers or the Ukrainian Parliament yet.
