Ukrainian tennis star Kostyuk reaches new WTA top-100 milestone

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk has spent 250 weeks in the WTA top 100, becoming the seventh Ukrainian to achieve this milestone. Despite a recent injury, Kostyuk continues to make a mark on the world tennis stage.
Kostyuk's performances in summer tournaments
At the Cincinnati tournament, Marta Kostyuk reached the third round but had to withdraw due to a wrist injury she sustained earlier in the WTA 1000 quarterfinals in Montreal. The win was awarded to Polish player Iga Swiatek, who went on to win the tournament, reaching the final.
After the tournament, Kostyuk dropped two positions in the updated WTA ranking and currently holds 29th place.
Record among Ukrainian players
Marta Kostyuk debuted in the WTA top 100 on November 2, 2020, at 97th place, and has not fallen below 99th since. Her highest ranking was 16th in June 2024.
Among Ukrainian players, Elina Svitolina leads in total weeks in the top 100 with 594 weeks. She is followed by Lesia Tsurenko (440), Kateryna Volodko (Bondarenko, 406), Natalia Medvedeva (334), Alona Bondarenko (324), and Dayana Yastremska (277). With 250 weeks, Marta Kostyuk became the seventh Ukrainian to reach this milestone.
