Fighting in Kursk region
The third week of the Ukrainian military's operation in the Kursk region has begun. So far, about 82 Russian settlements have been taken under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The operation aims to protect residents of Ukraine's border regions from Russian shelling and to create a buffer zone. During the operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully destroyed Russian bridges, making it impossible for the Russian military to withdraw from the encircled areas and complicating their logistics.
In a recent report, the International Institute for the Study of War states that Russia has deployed about 5,000 soldiers from the frontlines in Ukraine to try to retake territory in the Kursk region.
At the same time, the UK has decided to officially recognize the fact that Ukrainian troops are using British weapons during the operation.
Democratic Senator from Arizona Mark Kelly admitted that the course of the war may change due to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in the Kursk region of Russia.
