The Russian military continues to try to advance in the Avdiivka direction. However, the Ukrainian military, in cooperation with friendly units of the Defense Forces, continue to hold back the enemy, inflicting significant losses, report the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Operators of the 8th separate regiment of the Special Forces during night observation recorded the movement of an enemy group consisting of four soldiers.
"We are constantly monitoring the most dangerous locations in our area of responsibility using a drone with night and thermal imaging capabilities," said the operator.
He explained that during a regular overflight of the territory in the Avdiivka direction, an enemy group was detected.
"Mortar launchers reacted immediately, and in a few minutes they completely destroyed the invaders by a direct hit to the center of the enemy group," the military added.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, over the past day, January 6, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 860 occupants. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost 364,730 troops.
According to the General Staff, in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to surround Avdiivka.
Thus, the Defense Forces repelled 8 enemy attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 16 attacks near Pervomayske and Nevelske in Donetsk region over the past day.
