The Armed Forces of Ukraine have managed to slow down Russia's advance in most of the threatened areas of the Novopavlivka sector, according to Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to Syrskyi, due to the intensification of Russian actions, he worked in brigades that are defending the Donetsk region in the Novopavlivka sector.

“Russia is intensifying offensive actions in this area, trying to break through the defense of our troops and capture three settlements. However, we have taken a number of measures to improve the interaction of military units and subdivisions, regrouped troops, which slowed down Russia's advance in most threatened areas,” he adds.

During his visit to combat units, he heard from Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Donetsk operational and tactical group of troops and brigade commanders.

They discussed combat operations, existing needs, and problematic issues.

“The plan of the Russian occupants in these areas has remained unchanged for more than three years, namely, to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region. However, Russia's losses are only increasing, and the plans remain unrealized. Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting maximum losses on Russian personnel and equipment,” noted Syrskyi.

In particular, in the Novopavlivka sector, Russians carried out 19 attacks in the direction of the settlements of Kostyantynopil, Rozdolne, Shevchenko, and Burlatske.

Yesterday, on February 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, which addressed today's challenges.
