Ukrainian soldiers remove enemy mine from Black Sea coast
In the Odesa region, the Ukrainian military cleared an enemy mine washed ashore by a storm, according to the Operational Command South.
The incident took place near the village of Primorske in the municipality of Vilkovo in the Odesa region. An anchor mine washed ashore during a storm at sea.
Thanks to the professionalism of the deminers, the dangerous find was quickly neutralized by controlled detonation.
The Operational Command reminds people that if explosive or suspicious objects are detected, they should never be approached, touched, or moved by themselves. Access to the danger zone should be immediately restricted and the relevant services should be informed.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service's pyrotechnicians have defused more than 459,000 explosive devices.
In September, Switzerland approved a $110 million package for mine action in Ukraine. The funds will be disbursed between 2024 and 2027.
Norway also announced an $18.5 million package for mine clearance in Ukraine.
