Ukrainian soldiers destroy Russian self-propelled howitzer with drones
The fighters of the Ukrainian Kryla (Wings in Ukrainian - ed.) unit destroyed a Russian self-propelled artillery unit Msta-S with FPV drones, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
“Soldiers of the Kryla unit of the Active Operations Department of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine destroyed a Russian self-propelled artillery system Msta-S. The scouts skillfully used two long-range FPV drones to burn down the Russian howitzer,” the DIU writes.
Msta-S
This is a Soviet 152-mm self-propelled artillery system that was developed in the 1970s. It is designed to fire on positions, support ground troops, and destroy armored vehicles. It allows firing over long distances of up to 30 km using special shells.
One of the key features of Msta-S is its mobility. The unit has a tracked chassis, which allows it to move quickly across different types of terrain. The howitzer remains in service in many countries that have inherited the Soviet artillery tradition.
