Ukrainian Prime Minister meets with US EXIM Bank chief

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko met with newly appointed US EXIM Bank President John Jovanovic, according to Svyrydenko’s post on Telegram.
The head of government reported that the dialogue on expanding business cooperation with the US had continued.
“For us, it is important to demonstrate in every forum that Ukraine is a reliable partner and can offer promising business cases. We are ready to develop cooperation in energy, infrastructure, logistics, and the extraction of critical minerals,” she noted.
Svyrydenko said that the meeting also focused on projects related to gas imports, nuclear energy, and the development of joint uranium extraction.
“Exim Bank can become a reliable major partner in U.S.–Ukraine cooperation. We are working on deepening this partnership,” Svyrydenko emphasized.
Ukraine’s cooperation with the IMF
As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, an IMF mission is expected to visit Kyiv in the near future.
Yuliia Svyrydenko stated that she, along with a team of Ukrainian government officials, met with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and the newly appointed First Deputy Managing Director, Dan Katz.
The discussions focused on continuing cooperation and a new IMF program for Ukraine for 2026–2029, aimed at supporting the country’s economic stability.
Ukraine’s cooperation with the US Treasury
Earlier, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko discussed investments and sanctions against Russia with the US Department of the Treasury.
In Washington, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko to discuss strengthening the partnership and ensuring long-term peace. He expressed gratitude for the support of the Reconstruction Investment Fund, which has already begun forming its first project pipeline.
As part of the fund’s work, particular attention is being given to priority areas such as critical minerals, energy, and infrastructure. The partnership with the US opens the door to ambitious joint Ukrainian-American projects aimed at modernizing key sectors of the economy.
